I am an artist and educator originally from Detroit. I think because I grew up in the Motor City, my work has a funky eclectic feel too it. I think in detroit there is a lot on appropriation in the landsacpe and architecture- people use whatever is at hand. I think that is really what my work is about -morphing of ideas, amalgamation, appropriation, turning stuff on it's ear, tongue in cheek.

I am starting to get back into art making again it's been several months since I have seriously made art. I think i have tons to say and I can do it in a sophisticated way. i'm glad my paintings have shifted away from pop imagery as much cause they were never really about that. "Act One" is more representative of what i am doing of late. As for the pop stuff it still has a place, but it's more so in my illustrations and some of my video ideas.
